Invitation for academic staff – Conference Freedom of Expression and Freedom of Media

We wish to inform you of an opportunity for the academic staff  of your faculty within the project “Freedom of Expression and Freedom of Media in the Universities” implemented by SEELS, funded by Council of Europe under the program JUFREX. 

Within the project a conference is planned to be organised as an in vivo /hybrid event on 17-18 March in Belgrade, Serbia. 

The aim of the conference is to discuss the modes and methods of teaching Freedom of Expression and Freedom of Media at the universities and to exchange experiences on the best practices. 

We were informed today by the Council of Europe that we can invite professors from SEELS members, in  addition to the participants of the ToT course organized in 2019, as originally planned.

Thus apart from to the ToT participants, we would be able to welcome  up to 3 academic staff members who teach /research on the topics of Freedom of Expression and Freedom of Media from all relevant law fields, such as but not limited to Constitutional Law, Human rights Law, Media Law, Law on Obligations/Tort Law, Intellectual Property Law, Criminal Law, Sociology of Law or relevant fields of Political Sciences.

All participants interested in in vivo participation should confirm by  27th of February (Sunday), while those willing to take part online could  register on a later date. For the participants in vivo in Belgrade, all travel and accommodation costs will be covered.
